Join Michigan Sustainable Business Forum (MiSBF), the Lower Grand River Organization of Watersheds (LGROW), and its partners for an informative workshop focused on improving water quality and stormwater management in the Rush Creek Watershed. This session will provide businesses and landowners with valuable insights into sustainable practices, including rainscaping and tree planting, to reduce stormwater runoff and enhance environmental resilience.

Learn about the role of trees in improving water quality and explore conservation efforts led by Rush Creek Watershed stakeholders, and connect with resources to implement green infrastructure solutions. The workshop aims to foster collaboration, build community engagement, and secure new commitments from local businesses to plant trees as part of a broader watershed improvement initiative.

What to Expect:

  • Educational Sessions – Learn about the impact of rainscaping and large trees on water quality and how businesses and property owners can contribute to a healthier watershed.
  • Networking & Collaboration – Connect with local businesses, landowners, and conservation experts working toward sustainable stormwater solutions.
  • Project Overview – Hear from Rush Creek Watershed stakeholders including the ODC Network, and other environmental leaders about ongoing initiatives to restore Rush Creek.

Why It Matters:

This workshop is part of a broader initiative to address stormwater runoff in Michigan’s Lower Grand River Watershed. Through collaboration, the project aims to plant 450 trees and 50 shrubs, intercepting over 2 million gallons of stormwater runoff over 20 years. You can learn more at www.lgrow.org/rush-creek.
