Sustainable Square Mile and Benton Harbor Coastal Resilience

Michigan Sustainable Business Forum and Southwest Michigan Planning Commission will host an event highlighting Blacks in Green’s signature Sustainable Square Mile and the impacts of severe weather events in the Benton Harbor area on Monday, June 10 at Michigan Works! Benton Harbor.

Blacks in Green will join us for a presentation on their signature Sustainable Square Mile, the gold standard for Black community development. This unique whole-system approach for whole-system problems is designed to increase community wealth and wellbeing in the context of a changing climate. 

Southwest Michigan Planning Commission will give an update on the Coastal Zone Management Plan grants discussed during the March 5 event and look ahead to the future of planning for stormwater events in Benton Harbor.

This event is free with registration. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
