Kareem Scales is an accomplished leader and advocate with over 20 years of experience driving innovation and impact across various sectors. As CEO and Founder of Scales Consulting LLC, he specializes in leadership development, community engagement, and coalition building for businesses, municipalities, and nonprofits. Guided by the understanding that the subconscious mind acts as a powerful recording shaping conscious decisions, Kareem leverages this principle to develop transformative strategies that empower individuals and organizations to thrive.
A dedicated community leader and environmentalist justice advocate, Kareem bridges sustainability and social justice, holding local leadership roles such as Board Co-Chair of the Community Collaboration on Climate Change (C4), President of The Delta Project, Board of Directors member at Cherry Health, Michigan’s Advisory Council on Environmental Justice member and Environmental Justice Committee Chair at the Greater Grand Rapids NAAC. Nationally, he serves in several leadership roles including Building Power Node Leader leads the Cancer Free Economy Network and the Michigan Lead at the National NAACP Center for Environmental and Climate Justice.
Kareem’s previous roles include serving as Executive Director of the Greater Grand Rapids NAACP, where he championed civil rights and justice reforms, UAW Local 2145 Chair, and Development Manager for the Michigan Environmental Justice Coalition. With expertise in business sales, union leadership, and advocacy, he remains committed to fostering transformative change across for-profit and nonprofit sectors by addressing the critical interplay between mindset, leadership, and systemic impact.
