Dominican Sisters Grand Rapids
Emboldened by faith, serving with joy!
The Dominican Sisters ~ Grand Rapids are an apostolic community of vowed Catholic women committed to living faith boldly in the world. Rooted in the Gospel, Catholic Social Teaching, and the Dominican tradition of seeking truth, we work to foster a more just, compassionate, and sustainable world through ministry, study, prayer, and community—always for the common good.
For more than 145 years, Dominican Sisters have stood alongside those most affected by injustice, working locally and globally to uphold human dignity, accompany vulnerable communities, and seek to transform systems that harm people and the planet. Today, we are joined by Dominican Associates and non-vowed employees who share in this mission and help carry it forward.
Care for the Earth is integral to who we are. We recognize the universe as sacred and interconnected, and we understand ecological harm as a moral and spiritual concern. At our Marywood campus in Grand Rapids, this commitment is embodied through native prairie restoration, expanded tree planting, and land-care practices that protect Coldbrook Creek and the surrounding ecosystem.
We collaborate with partners who share a commitment to justice, sustainability, and the flourishing of all life. In a world longing for healing, we strive to be a flame of truth, love, mercy, and hope—trusting that faithful action, rooted in love, can help transform our common home.
