Damany Head (In Memoriam), Founder and Managing Partner, Essential Recycling

Damany Head was an entrepreneur, and leadership strategist, and literacy advocate who equipped business owners with tools to increase their bottom line, enhanced structure for rapid future growth and purposeful momentum to drive effective change, and served his community in literacy and mentorship.

Head was an engineer by trade and a leader by birth. A Managing Partner in Essential Recycling, he expanded recycling in the commercial industry since 2008. Head was a visible advocate for recycling in Michigan and economic development in Pontiac.  He served as the chair of Pontiac Regional Chamber and led the charge to establish a North Oakland County Resource Recycling Authority (a 2022 People’s Choice winner in the Michigan NextCycle competition). His natural ability to relate to people, while simultaneously driving concrete results, demonstrated his creative power.

Head’s impact on Pontiac, Michigan, and his fellow man will be remembered as someone who strove to make a difference for the better.
