Michigan Sustainable Business Forum supports clean water investments, green infrastructure and water conservation as a necessary focus for sustainability and sustainable business programs in Michigan and the Great Lakes: Home to 10 percent of the world’s fresh surface water and thousands of community assets in local watersheds. Rainscaping and Green Infrastructure Protect Water Quality in Michigan
Polluted runoff from city streets, parking lots and rooftops is one of the largest sources of water pollution in Michigan. A growing number of companies and institutions are using nature-based solutions to treat stormwater on-site, and finding it to be more cost-effective than conventional infrastructure, aesthetically pleasing, and appreciated by employees, guests, regulators and the community.

The Great Lakes and Rivers Program houses the Forum’s green stormwater infrastructure education and resources, including its watershed engagement, tree planting and rainscaping initiatives, technical assistance for property owners, and education on water quality program and public policy. The program is a collaborative effort of the MiSBF Clean Water Council.
