Perrigo Honored as 2024 West Michigan Sustainable Business of the Year for Leadership in Corporate Sustainability and Climate Action

Grand Rapids, MI – October 21, 2024 – Michigan Sustainable Business Forum (MiSBF) is proud to recognize Perrigo as a 2024 West Michigan Sustainable Business of the Year honoree. Perrigo is celebrated for its strong commitment to corporate sustainability, climate action, and advancing responsible packaging practices. 

Perrigo has made significant strides in reducing its environmental footprint, with a focus on addressing Scope 3 emissions—the indirect emissions that occur throughout its supply chain. These efforts reflect the company’s dedication to comprehensive climate action and its role as a leader in the sustainability space. Additionally, Perrigo has prioritized the use of recycled content in its packaging, demonstrating a commitment to minimizing waste and supporting the circular economy.

Perrigo has set ambitious goals as part of its sustainability strategy and made significant progress in 2023:

  • Reduced Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 9% compared to a 2020 baseline
  • Increased on-site renewable energy usage by 15 times since 2020
  • Removed 463 metric tons of virgin packaging from our global product portfolio
  • Advanced our diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy
  • Donated $3.6 million in cash and products through the Perrigo Foundation

The award will be presented during the 11th Annual Triple Bottom Line Bash on October 23, 2024, at The High Five Grand Rapids. The event will feature an evening of celebration, networking, and a special tribute to MiSBF’s 30th anniversary. Attendees will enjoy a locally sourced dinner and beverages while helping to support MiSBF’s ongoing statewide programming that promotes sustainable business practices across Michigan.
