Great Lakes Conservation as a Business Driver for West Michigan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Michigan Sustainable Business Forum and ODC Network are hosting a forum to celebrate public and private investments in Great Lakes restoration and water conservation, including the 13-year anniversary of Project Clarity and more recent investments and recourse from local companies and institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Project Clarity: Restoring the Macatawa Watershed was initially planned for a five-year project to address sediment, nutrient and bacterial pollution plaguing the 175-square mile area that includes Lake Macatawa, the Macatawa River, and nearly 700 miles of rivers, streams and ditches.&nbsp; Affiliated ODC Network initiatives include the Macatawa Greenway, which has permanently protected lands from Zeeland Township to Lake Michigan for wildlife habitat and recreation, and a large portfolio of private sector sites advancing \u201cwatersmart\u201d landscaping and conservation.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Great Lakes and West Michigan\u2019s local watersheds are a key economic driver and an important consideration of corporate and community sustainability plans in the region.&nbsp; Conservation is becoming a business imperative.&nbsp; As one example, the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative has resulted in economic returns of more than 3-to-1 for every dollar invested across the Great Lakes, with more than 8,850 projects, including the Greenway\u2019s most recent project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Learn how Project Clarity and its sister programs create economic and community value by protecting the Great Lakes, Macatawa Watershed, and other natural resources.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Learn how local companies are investing in their properties and engaging employees through conservation programs, and access resources to improve water efficiency.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Receive an update on the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative and other key programs supporting investments in coastal communities.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Network with local sustainability professionals, business leaders, and community stakeholders at Forum\u2019s first member event of the season.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enjoy one of multiple tours of new and expanded facilities at the Outdoor Discovery Center.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All are welcome.&nbsp; Lunch will be provided.&nbsp; Optional guided tours will be
